Attendance |
10% |
Due to the nature of this course, students are expected to attend all classes unless they have a reasonable excuse for their absence.

Participation in class |
15% |
Students are expected to participate actively in in-class activities. Students are also given the opportunity to review and edit their own and other’s written work in class.

3. |
Individual conferences |
5% |
Individual conferences will also be held in class throughout the semester. These are designed to give students the opportunity to discuss their own writing with the instructor individually.

4. |
Writing assignments |
20% |
Students are expected to participate actively in writing activities (both in-class and take-home assignments).
Always remember to submit assignments on time. Lateness will reflect negatively on final grading. |
5. |
Major essays |
50% |
By the end of this course, students will produce several essays for different purposes (on academic and general interest topics).
